As long as it doesn't have any illegals added to it, like a marinade. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

Guest guest
I am not nearly enough of an expert on herbal medicine, particularly with Chinese herbs, to give you the official OK on Calm ES by Evergreen. But herbal supplements are generally considered a bad idea while on SCD. Most herbs are polysaccharides, which means they’ll impact the intestinal tract, and which makes them off-limits while on SCD. So I would advise against using Calm ES. There are other options to help with sleep that might be less risky to the digestion. Magnesium makes you drowsy, and is often used as a sleep aid. . Kim M. Guest guest
Hi, Essential oils can be great as sleep aids. A lavender bath before bed makes a huge difference in how I sleep (I only add one to two drops of the oil). You can also add a few drops of essential oil to a oil carrier base (and more is not better with essential oils) and use this on your skin before sleep. Mountain Rose Herbs makes a product call Sleep Ease Oil, which I love, and it has lavender, hops, chamomile and valerian essential oils, and I sleep beautifully on the stuff. Just a couple of drops will do ya. Ellen
