Guest guest
I am wondering if i can add MCT oil in my 3yr old daughters diet. 3 months on SCD, suffering from UC. Can i just add it her normal grinded food or do i need to cook with it. thanks Hem
Guest guest
Hi,I'm not very long on the diet, so don't take my word for it, but I'm pretty sure its legal. It stands for medium chain triglycerides, which is what 66% of coconut oil is made of. It's in coconut oil, which is legal, so it should be fine. I'm pretty sure its in fish oil as well.My nutritionist told me that you shouldn't cook with it, but you can add it to smoothies and soups, that kind of thing to add calories in a very easily digestible form.Good luck - Ellen To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Fri, August 13, 2010 5:57:09 PMSubject: Is MCT Oil SCD legal I am wondering if i can add MCT oil in my 3yr old daughters diet. 3 months on SCD, suffering from UC. Medium chain triglycerides? Like coconut oil? SO long as it does not have any illegal additives, yes. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
