Guest guest
hi all, sorry i havent posted or responded to all your emails. my dad isnt doing so well. he kinda went down hill some after having the last seziure on thurs morning. he is incoherent and if you do " wake " him he just groans and moans. he may open his eyes alittle but it is just a blank stare!! the only positive thing is that he was moving his left leg around today as he was " thrashing " around in bed. they are not sure what the outcome will be yet, this could be the worst of it and he could start to come back or he could just stay like this or even get worse. the bleed isnt getting any bigger but the blood and other fluid isnt soaking back into the brain like it should either and they are not sure why. he has to go for another MRI again. terry went for his back surgery consult today. he has to go for another MRI to see if the disc is disvoled or stil there and herniated. if it did disolve then there is nothing they can do, that means it is scar tissue causing the pain and he will have to learn to live with it. if that is not the case he will have the surgery to remove it. the dr basically said thought that no matter what terry should find a different line of work because the heavy lifting he has to do is just going to wreck his back some more if and when he can go back. we have our 3 month check up with dr h tomorrow. i have to talk to her about our insurance being cancelled (finally got the offical notice from the insurance company yesterday) i have a few more thing to send NJ family care this week, but i was told they probably wouldnt cover the nyc visits anyway sine they are a state of nj insurance company. we will see!! wish us luck tomorrow and please keep my dad (his name is nelson) in your thoughts and prayers!! jodie c
Guest guest
Jodie - hey sweetie. Wasn't really expecting you to respond - but, thanks for keeping us posted. You certainly have your share of concerns right now and your focus definately needs to be your immediate family - this " family " will be here for you when you are ready. My dear Jodie - I would like to remind you that we are here for you though if you need us. Our thoughts are with your father, Mr. and we will continue to pray for a healthy recovery very soon. If you have a chance to give us an update on your appointment with Dr. H tomorrow - that would be great. Otherwise, we will hear from you when you have time. It looks like the weather is holding up for your area - so, that's good. I'm just in awe at your coping mechanisms considering everything you have struggled with over the last 6 months. You should be very proud of your accomplishments to keep it all together! Your positive personality is amazing. Just remember how special you are when things seem a little hectic. Oh, and don't forget to take care of yourself too - okay? You know that's my mantra! Thinking of you and yours - LOTS. - Hugs - H > > hi all, > sorry i havent posted or responded to all your emails. my dad isnt > doing so well. he kinda went down hill some after having the last > seziure on thurs morning. he is incoherent and if you do " wake " him > he just groans and moans. he may open his eyes alittle but it is > just a blank stare!! the only positive thing is that he was moving > his left leg around today as he was " thrashing " around in bed. they > are not sure what the outcome will be yet, this could be the worst > of it and he could start to come back or he could just stay like > this or even get worse. the bleed isnt getting any bigger but the > blood and other fluid isnt soaking back into the brain like it > should either and they are not sure why. he has to go for another > MRI again. > > terry went for his back surgery consult today. he has to go for > another MRI to see if the disc is disvoled or stil there and > herniated. if it did disolve then there is nothing they can do, > that means it is scar tissue causing the pain and he will have to > learn to live with it. if that is not the case he will have the > surgery to remove it. the dr basically said thought that no matter > what terry should find a different line of work because the heavy > lifting he has to do is just going to wreck his back some more if > and when he can go back. > > we have our 3 month check up with dr h tomorrow. i have to talk to > her about our insurance being cancelled (finally got the offical > notice from the insurance company yesterday) i have a few more > thing to send NJ family care this week, but i was told they probably > wouldnt cover the nyc visits anyway sine they are a state of nj > insurance company. we will see!! wish us luck tomorrow and please > keep my dad (his name is nelson) in your thoughts and prayers!! > > jodie c >

Guest guest
Jodi/Sheldon - if I may barge in here. My grandmother has had two surgeries on her back - although she has degenerative disk disease and osteoperosis which are pretty intense - but, she has been in pain since her mid 50's when she had the first procedure and more pain since her second in her 70's. She has been miserable ever since. I am not one to usually talk about something I have no experience in myself and/or my lack of expertise in a field that requires quite a bit of schooling <grin> - but, if I may be blunt and say that I would definately give the surgery option a great deal of contemplation - and, I would consider all options in this area (as I am sure you are <grin>) before taking the leap to surgery. I think there are some great rehab programs that can build up the muscles in the areas of the disks that are inflamed or otherwise and cortisone shots are usually used to help ease the pain for the first 6 weeks prior to rehab (had a friend that went through this option and found it quite successful). Hope you don't mind my two cents - just hoping to help. Give your husband a hug for me - back pain is terrible. I pinch nerves in my shoulders at least once a year - to the point I can't breathe - literally - and have to lay flat on the floor without moving - usually for an ENTIRE day - and then I have to take pain meds and muscle relaxes for about 5 days. If only I would take my own advice and do more physical exercise with weights to increase my strength in my back! LOL LOL But, I couldn't imagine having pain in my back for an extended period of time. What difficulty on the psyche to always have to deal with pain. Not fun. I'm sorry he has to go through this. My best to you and yours. We are thinking of you as well with Mr. . Hope we hear some good things today. Hugs to you. - H > > Hey Jodi: This is Sheldon,Sorry to hear your Dad still is not doing any better. You are in my Prayers Dear. as far as your Husbands back.
