Guest guest
> Jodi, To be honest with you, I am surprised we got power back already. According to the news, they are now 50% restored for Broward County, so there's still about 432,000 residents without power. Jensen Beach is about 2 hours north of me. I am surprised they are still without power. My county was the hardest hit county. Gas is getting a little easier to get since some people have gotten their power back, but it is still expensive!!!! There was just a story on the news about a 19 year old in Miami that was ventilator and feeding pump dependent at home. The family said it cost $100/ day in gas to run their generator, and they are still without power. They ran out of money. After the newscast, people starting donating gas & money. I am not sure why they didn't just go to a hospital. When was younger & dependent on a lot more medical equipment, that is what we had to do when a hurricane was coming. We just brought sleeping bags and everything necessary to take care of ourselves. We slept on the floor of the hospital if no beds were available. There are also some shelters around here that are running on generators. Kim > Kim, > > My mother and her husband live on Hutchinson Island/Jensen Beach. > They still have no power.
