Guest guest
I don't know if anyone has posted this already because I'm way behind in my reading, but one idea is to ask a shelter or vet's office to scan the cat to see if it's been microchipped. Even though they're indoor cats, I have both of mine microchipped in case they ever accidently get out. The chip is encoded with the pet's name, owner's name, and ID number, as well as the Vet's office and number that implanted it. The Vet's office keeps records and can contact the owner. Or the owner can pay an annual fee to register the ID number in a national registry so they can be directly contacted. It's a relatively inexpensive procedure now (around $35), so more and more people are doing it. You might get lucky and be able to get that baby home to his momma before Christmas! in Austin
