Guest guest
My greatest annoyance with this whole numbness thing is definitely the problem with kissing! I have been with my fiance for 6 years, and he's very understanding so he does not complain but rather feels bad for me. He has been trying to aim his kisses at my top lip instead...since I have feeling there. I do miss feeling them on my bottom lip, and sometimes to the point where I even cry. My case is a little different because during these 6 years we've been together, he has been in and out of the hospital himself due to being diagnosed with cancer, going into remission, relapsing, and now in remission again. Throughout my whole surgery experience he has been understanding because he knows what it feels like to not be able to eat..and to not feel like kissing. I'm just hoping that his lovely kisses will eventually be a big WAKE UP call to my nerves, hehe.
Guest guest
This is great topic! I just happenedd by the group after quite a long time and, by chance, this topic is currently near and dear to my heart. My maxiallary surgery was 16+ months ago and I'm prety much all healed up now. However, I've been left is a small souvenir in the form of numbness/odd feeling on half of my upper lip and a bit of my face nearby. Like you, I've been concerned about the impact on kissing! Being without an SO for some time (surgery coincided with divorce for me). I recently had the opportunity to 'test-drive' my new face :-) For me, I'm happy to report that I completely forgot about the numbness and it didn't impact the experience at all. I'm not sure if I adapted to it or if the moment itself just obscured the problem. Kissing still rocks ;-) Todd > I'm sure the subject will get a lot of your guys' attention. My thing > is this. Guest guest
Todd, I'm glad the test drive was so successful. How'd you like the car? LOL. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Thanks for the input. Guest guest
I'd like to mention that I've been amazingly lucky so far with many aspects of this surgery. I was terrified pre-surgery as I like kissing my hubby and wanted to still feel it! At this point I can now feel all of my lips, although my left upper lip is slightly 'altered'. I can feel it but it's not quite 100%. The left side of my NOSE though is more 'altered' and numbish and when I kiss my hubby and his nose hits my nose it is very weird! We usually manage to soldier on without issues though... he he he... My hubby has no complaints so far, but he does say that I'm getting better every day and am much better than I was on day 1. Maybe what it takes is more practice! Have you tried that Connie? Cori upper/2-piece Lefort 7/20 > > > I'm sure the subject will get a lot of your guys' attention. My > thing > > > is this.
