Guest guest
Debbie, I can so relate! Although my sister is across the country in CA, she always asks me what size I am now. She had always been the skinny one, and me the fat one, and for the first time in our lives, we wear the same size! I just wish we were closer so we could share clothes. in NJ ************************** > What a DAY! Guest guest
I'm so happy for you and wish I had a sister too but buying boy's pants size 12 gives me a big kick too. Before there was nothing that fit but stretch stuff. Now $12 at WalMart get's me styled. It's wonderful out here in the thin world. Guest guest
> name your top three weight related moments 1. When at 250# I became pregnant, I went into a Motherhood Maternity store to inquire if they could order plus-size maternity clothes. Was told by the clerk " Women your size never get pregnant. " 2. Different pregnancy, at around 245#, had a miscarriage. OB stood there in the emergency room at 3 a.m., and said " This probably wouldn't have happened if you weren't so fat. " (Yes, those exact words. I went on to successfully and naturally deliver 3 children, my weight at 300, 350, and 335 respectively). 3. I worked on the 6th floor of an office building. I was at about 375. We had a fire drill, and it took me longer than anyone else to use the stairs. Each floor and department had a fire drill " officer " -- ours was a structural engineer who thought he was the universe's gift to wonderfulness (few shared this opinion). In the parking lot where we all met after evacuating the building, he says, loudly enough for all to hear " well Lyn, since you're so heavy, next time let's use the bosun's chair to lower you down -- that will be much faster. " I looked him in the eye, and said " not even if the building was really on fire. " Ok, so that was all negative stuff. Great positive moment post-op, when one of my kids saw me in size 30 jeans (as I was on the way down, these were the first jeans I had gotten into) and declared I looked like a homie with those baggie jeans, it was time to buy something smaller. (They referred to these as my Notorious Mommy G jeans! LOL!) I still have them, as a warning. ~~ Lyn
