Sure Diane. Heck, you can be me this year and think of something. LOL

Something will come to me after next week. Right now I'm bogged down

with studying for my chemistry final on the 18th and really can't think

of anything right now. If you have any suggestions, feel free!!!!

Not only do they feel very special receiving them, but you are giving

them an

example of love that will be with them the rest of their lives. You are

an amazing mother/woman. I'd love to hear what you come up with this

year. May I live vicariously through you?

Regina,

I was in Joanns yesterday and they had an easy fleece throw

blanket. You can buy their pre-packaged kits or pick your own

fleece. You start w/two coordinating pieces of fabric approximately

60 " long (or however long you'd like a throw blanket. You cut the

border all the way around inward towards the middle in approx. 3/4 -

1 " strips on both pieces of fabric. Put wrong sides together and

tie the top piece to the bottom and you are done. It creates a cute

throw blanket with fringe. Most fabric stores in our area have

examples. A woman there told me you can also make a pillow the same

way--no sew. It may be too easy for a vetran like you. Just a

suggestion. Actually, I got the fabric for a gift for my 11 year

old to do by herself. Good luck on you exams. Now I am really

impressed that you do this AND go to school.

Thanks,

Diane

Diane/Regina,

I do something simular, only you do have to sew, but it's really

quick and my boys loved them. I would take two pieces of fake fur

(short nap) of the same size. Put them together face to face. Sew

up three sides and part of the 4th. Turn inside out through the

hole and sew up the opening. I then topstiched around the outside.

So warm and cuddly! Had to make two at a time or they would fight

for them!

Just to keep this on topic, LOL, they come in really handy when this

old body of mine gets cold, which is often since I lost 200 lbs!

Hey Reba,

Thanks for the idea. My kids will love that idea too as I can see

them playing on the floor with it too. I think that will be a great

beginning sewing machine project for them. Thanks a lot. Oh, and

congrats on such great weight loss.

Thanks,

Diane
