,

I had horrible withdrawels each time I tried to come off of prednisone ( severe flu like symptoms, breathing problems, joint pain, etc.), with the result being I always got sick and my dose was increased again. I had been on it since May 2006 and this year was finally able to come off. I dropped 1 mg a month! It took forever but it was worth it. Even dropping 1 mg a month I would have flu like symptoms for the first week and then I would feel normal for the next three. I have been prednisone free since September and the difference is amazing. It was well worth taking the year to come off. Hope this helps- R. (53) Sarcoid/PF 3/2006 Carlsbad,
