Keltie,

I've had the tests twice. They are absolutely painless. Much like

the ultrasounds that are done during pregnancy, except that they do

your leg, from your crotch to your ankle, or nearly so, looking for

DVTs. The " Doppler " part is what senses blood flow, and if there is

a DVT, blood flow back to the heart is impeded, and that shows up

(the Doppler Effect is the thingy about a train whistle sounding

higher pitch as the moving train approaches you and then lower pitch

as it recedes from your view, so the device senses blood flow by

using the Doppler Effect).

Here's wishing you both an uneventful outcome. You acted absolutely

correctly by pressing the issue with your doctors. GOOD MOM!
