Guest guest
Hi Diane, Haven't posted for a little bit. Hope you're doing OK. I'm pretty sure I have these, because the pressure on my teeth is constant. sometimes the pain/pressure isn't even all that noticeable until the 2nd-3rd week after an adjustment. My gaps are slowly closing...but they're closing The wires keep getting thicker and thicker, plus the power chains, plus there are these new elastic things on there all the way in back too. Lucky I can still see my teeth! Take care! ~Joanne > Hello, I have a question about Orthodontic treatment. Guest guest
Joanne - Great to hear from you! Actually, I had to visit my OD's office today about changing some of my appointments and had a chance to talk to my OD about the very same question I had posted. Yes, I have Continuous Force Wires; he says that's ALL he uses. He asked me to show him my smile and seemed very pleased at my progress. I told him that my teeth are definitely moving around. I asked him if I can have my surgery moved up if I continue at the current rate of movement and he told me that he and I will discuss this at my adjustment next Tuesday. WooHoo! I certainly hope he will be telling me some good news! He says he needs to talk with my OMS, so he will tell him about the progress I've made in just the first three weeks of braces. I'm supposed to go to my OMS in December, as he wants to see my progress (see the positions of my teeth) and study my mouth to decide if the LeFort will be necessary. I hope he will decide that the LeFort is warranted, so that I can finally start preparing mentally for Bimaxillary Surgery instead of just the BSSO. I think that it's stressful to have all this still up in the air. ~~ Diane--- In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " jpulaski129 " <jpulaski129@y...> wrote: > Hi Diane, > Haven't posted for a little bit. Guest guest
Happy Labor Day Diane and everybody! My next adjustment with the ortho is this coming Thursday and my next appointment with the OMS is the following day, Friday the 9th. I plan to ask him what I may need when the time comes: I'm thinking a bedside table (standup tray table) for anything I may need during the night, a bed wedge so I can prop myself up while I'm sleeping, a shower chair, a humidifier, etc...thanks to everyone on this site for making me so much more familiar w/ the terminology so I can ask my OMS what exactly will be done and what I'll need when the time comes. Diane, I'm hopeful that your surgery will be sooner than expected, as I hope mine will. My teeth are also moving quickly. Just wish these darn gaps would close faster! Keep us posted! ~Joanne > Joanne - Great to hear from you! Guest guest
Joanne - Hope you had an enjoyable Labor Day weekend. I'm in L.A. and will be flying home early Tuesday morning. The appointment with my OD is one hour after I land in Boise, so I'll be brushing my teeth while waiting for my checked bags to be unloaded. My medical meeting went very well and I got to have some fun with some of my friends too. My teeth continue to move and my speech has gotten noticably slurred as my teeth are no longer in their familar positions. I hope my OD has some good news for me at my appointment - I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'll let you all know what happens. ~~~~ Diane > > Joanne - Great to hear from you!
