Guest guest
My daughter wore her starband for 5 mo, so 8 wks seems short. But then again you have twins, so maybe that counts for 16 wks :-) We didn't have a docband, but I thought they did the final visit where they take the pics and " graduate " the kids (remove the band for the last time) at the same visit. So I would guess that will all happen in 2 weeks. Hopefully a docband mom will clarify this for you. Glad you're almost done. -christine sydney, 3.5 yrs, starband grad > > We have an appointment tomorrow at Cranial Tech. They told us we will go in tomorrow then again in 2 weeks. The appt in 2 weeks will be our last time we have to go. So I assume they will do the 'after' photostudy pics then. But I am unclear if they will be done with the helmets as of tomorrow, or if they will make them wear them another week and then have 1 week without helmets before the pics are taken? I'm so ready to be done with the helmets. We have twins wearing them, our boy has had issues with irritation all along b/c of his very sensitive skin, and our daughter is having sleep issues with the helmet on. It's been a long 8 weeks! I know we will find out tomorrow, but just curious what your experience has been. >
Guest guest
docbands I think are worn closer to 3 months on average so 8 wks isnt bad if the kids are young On Wed, Nov 25, 2009 at 12:28 PM, christineashok <christineashok@...> wrote: My daughter wore her starband for 5 mo, so 8 wks seems short. Guest guest
I had one friend whose son wore the DOC band, and for him they had him out of the helmet for 1 week then did the after pics. We had our appt today and they said we should try to get them to wear it 2 more weeks, and we will do the exit appt on Dec 7th. The orthotist said that if we start to notice any dark red spots or if they seem very irritable about wearing the helmets that we can stop them earlier than 2 weeks. They have been pretty crabby about wearing them for the past week, so I'm hoping we can get 1 more week for sure, hopefuly the 2. But regardless, our 'graduation' is going to be Dec 7th! > > We have an appointment tomorrow at Cranial Tech. They told us we will go in tomorrow then again in 2 weeks.
