Bruce- tomorrow I am going in for a chest Xray. I have been coughing more and she wanted a look. It's my fault that I haven't gotten it sooner but will do so tomorrow. I keep waitinf for a call from the hospital to make an appointment for a stress test. I have called my doctors office once all ready and complained I have never heard from anyone and will do that agian tomorrow. I don't understand why no one is calling me to make an appointment for a stress test. I have vnever had an echo and don't even know what that is. I am fine is I just sit or lie down. This is really scary though. I have to do things! Joyce R

An echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart-it looks at the size of the heart, checks valves & checks cardiac output among other things.Maggie 64 IPF-3/07-TX

I've had both echo and stress test in July, but will be going to National Jewish in Feb and they have scheduled me for an echo again Gascoigne SD, 50 yrs old, Renaud's 2008, IPF 7/2009To:

I'd be shocked if you didn't have an echocardiogram at National Jewish

but if you haven't had one since then please insist your GP schedule one

for you tomorrow in addition to following up on the stress test. I know

it's scary but I've seen you when you get yourself in the solution mode

before so get with the doctor you trust and get help and get all these

tests taken care of. They'll explain things I believe. Chest xray is

useful just to rule out pneumonia. However, I hope they have previous to

compare to as sometimes they see one of ours and think pneumonia even

when its not the case. But its the echo and stress and cardiac tests

that most concern me right now.

Bruce, I think Jewish took an echo because they said I have mild what ever it is called when the artery in your lungs pressure is high. Joyce R AZ birds

Joyce.... I too had an echo, then a right/left heart cath. Results are that I too have mild-moderate PH. I'll be going back to UWMC late in Jan with all the results from the testing and I'm anxious to see what Dr. Raghu will be telling me next.

Apparently there are some meds that can be given for PH but I have the questions first...

Bruce I will try to remain calm but I am going nuts. I am so unable to do anything it is driving me crazy but my stress test is next thursday. I had one in 07 and failed it. I had a nuclear something or other and failed it. Then they went into my heart and said they had no idea why I failed all the tests because all my arteries and veins were absolutely clear...not even a flake of plaque! Yet, I failed all these tests.....I asked them why and they said they didn't know. Joyce
