Guest guest
Colin is an unusual RSS case as he is 5 years old, 50th %ile for height and his bone age is advanced anywhere from 1 year - 2 years past his chronological age (his right hand which is larger is more advanced). Colin is not showing any signs of adrenarche so his Endo doesn't feel GH is necessary for him at this point and doesn't want to mess with what is working. He didn't seem too concerned about the advanced bone age, although I must say it still worries me. I would love to get Dr. H's opinion, but I'm not sure it warrants a visit to NY right now. I've tried emailing her with no success and she used to answer all of my previous emails. We had a visit last May and she failed to follow up on her action items so I'm not sure what to do next as far as getting in touch with her. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I just want to cover my bases and make sure we are doing the best for Colin. Thanks, Colin (RSS, gtube) and Hayden - 5 year twins Grant - 2 years
Guest guest
- I wish I had some answers for you re: the bone age - I just don't have a clue at this point since I haven't experienced that ' just yet ' anyway. You know though - Ian seems to be doing " okay " in the height chart as well (5%) - obviously that's not 50th - but, I understand where you feel things may be a little different. You know, they probably wouldn't approve GH (from what my doc said to me) because of his height percentile - as you probably already know. As far as the bone age - Ian has always only been about 6-9 months behind - so, I don't have any answers for you. Wish I did though. Keep us posted. Maybe your geneticist could shine some light on the bone age scenario? Just a thought. - H > > Colin is an unusual RSS case as he is 5 years old, 50th %ile for > height and his bone age is advanced anywhere from 1 year - 2 years > past his chronological age (his right hand which is larger is more > advanced).
