Guest guest
I wanted to let the group know that I just rec'd a call from my SS worker that my SSDI has been approved. I applied in Oct 2009 after receiving my diagnosis in Sept 2009. While this is terrific news for me, I am writing to let others know how worried I was about being approved the first time. According to the SS site their are 3 tables for pulmonary disease qualifications. Bruce talked about these in a post not too long ago. According to the values in the tables, I did not qualify under the first two tables (FEV, FVC), however, under the third table (DLCO) I did. Also, though my pulmonologist prescribed O2 for me, I am not using it 24/7. When resting I do not need it at all - only under exertion, and then only 2LPM. I thought this information might be helpful for many who think they may not qualify. APPLY.....if you have worked in the US then you are entitled to this benefit. I'm 59 and have worked since I was 16. Myrlene Brown 59 La Verne, CA IPF 9/09; GERD 12/
