Thank you! I am not strictly a vegetarian, but have " leanings " that way, and

I can't keep beef down very well at all. I will eat really good fish on

occasion, and a little chicken, but I'd rather be more veg. Ovo-lacto whatever

is

fine.

Do things like cottage cheese or beans provide enough quality protein to do

the job? (I am familiar with how to combine incomplete proteins correctly,

just wondering if the protein ratio is high enough with those kinds of foods.)

I can tolerate actual veggies more now than I used to be able to.

Appreciate the help!

Tofu, miso, Garden Burgers... hummus (a chickpea/tahini blend)

When I was fairly new as a post-op and still not able to tolerate meats

very well, I used to make bean soups and eat it with a bit of brown

rice. I made the soups on the thick side, so they'd fill me up and

stick with me.

You could use ricotta and cottage cheese... vegetable lasagne, veggie

manicotti.

There are so many neat foods that are now easily available in large

supermarket specialty sections, so you can spend time exploring those

aisles, or look for some specialty foods online.

You didn't specify whether you were vegan or ovo-lacto vegetarian.

Will you have fish or shellfish on occasion?

If you give me some idea of what you like to eat, we'd be happy to give

you some more suggestions.

There are a few things that come to mind - nuts, cheese, beans,

legumes, soy. Some protein drinks come in soy and whey which are okay

for vegetarians I think.
