What makes you think your breastmilk will become toxic once you have started the

diet? Is it that you are taking supplements (besides a probiotic ) to help in

the healing process.

My daughter is 16mo and breastfeeds at least 3x a day/night. I am working with

an ND (Naturopathic Doctor) to aid me in my journey. My main worry with

breastfeeding + SCD is the loss of my milk.

With that, we have tweaked the diet a tad to include 1 fruit a day.

Do you have someone monitoring your diet with you? If not, I would highly

recommend a ND.

Take care and good luck!

Hello! I didn't catch your name,I understand why you are worried, but those bad bacteria that are causing you colitis symptoms are already putting toxins into your body -- it is their natural by-product. If your situation isn't completely dire, I would ease into starting SCD. By this, I mean doing something like the Moderator, Marilyn, did when she started it. Begin by dropping one illegal a week. Say bread one week, pasta, the next, sugar after that, and so on so that you minimize the die off. Then once you have eliminated all illegals, do the intro diet and add back in foods from there. Another thing you can do is take epsom salt baths to help with the body getting rid of the toxins. AmeliaTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Sun, September 26, 2010 9:31:51 PMSubject: bfing and starting diet

How can I safely start the SCD diet while breastfeeding my 4 month old daughter? I'm mostly worried about toxins and such dumping into my breastmilk while detoxing and healing my body.
