Guest guest
I just want to say that people are wonderful and I'm so happy to have found this group! I've been on the SCD for almost 4 months(prompted by lots of pain from diverticulitis, constipation and basically not being able to digest anything other than kale). I've been taking betaine HCI, lots of probiotics, cod liver oil and so on since May and I feel worlds better. After 3 months on the diet the pain in my lower left abdomen was virtually gone and other symptoms were improving. My challenge is that I live in a community where I don't make most of my food. My new diet has been quite an education for everyone who cooks here and mistakes are made. When they are I feel set back a long ways. Three weeks ago I mistakenly ate non SCD ingredients in a number of meals in a row and I'm still trying to recover. Does anyone have suggestions for what to eat in the days following a run in with non SCD foods? From what I've read so far having brothy soups for a few days seems like a possibility. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi , And welcome. This is a wonderful group. The usual advice for the accidental (or not so) ingestion of illegals is to return to intro diet for a couple of days to help your body reset. And, unfortunately, run-ins with non-SCD foods will happen. Just make sure they're not accidentally-on-purpose! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
