Guest guest
Could it possibly be a hernia? Occasionally with a hernia there may be some pulling on the diaphram or so I have been told. Guest guest
Sherrie Is your upper GI including a small bowel series? Its the small bowel series portion that will show suspicion for a twist or bowel obstruction. The upper GI alone will not. (I have had 3 bowel obstructions since my WLS.) I'm not 100% what that means. I check several my medical sources and cannot find " entrioview " anywhere. I would make sure you are getting the small series though. It involves several sets of films that they will take over time to watch the flow of the barium as it passes down your intestines and small bowel. With my last bowel obstruction, I went to my doc a month before I ended up in the ER complaining of pain and he only ordered the upper GI. Had the small bowel series been done, it would have saved me a lot of needless pain/suffering, and I would not have ended up with malnutrition. I just had this last one 8 weeks ago and I'm still having a somewhat rough recovery because of the malnutrition. Good luck - am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for sure. I have just undergone a number of tests to determine why I have abdominal discomfort after I eat and why I have not been able to lose more weight. I had RNY surgery two and a half years ago and went from 280 pounds to 175 - then suddenly gained 15-20 pounds about a year ago. No matter what I do, I've been unable to lose any more weight. My doctor " scoped " me from both ends, did an ultrasound of all my abdominal organs and ordered xrays of my small intestines. Results show my stoma has stretched to the size of my intestines and it only took 15 minutes for the barium used in the xrays to get from my mouth, through my pouch and completely through my small intestines. Not good. I also have so many adhesions in my intestines, the doctor is talking about Crohn's disease. Also, not good. I have an appointment with my doctor on Monday to discuss all the test results and decide what to do. Anyway, I'm glad to be able to see what an adhesion looks like. it will be easier now for me to talk to the doctor. Guest guest
, Welcome to the group and congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I am wondering if you have had a scope done to check out your mechanics. Maybe it would be worth checking into. I am 2.5 years out and discovered that I have a staple line disruption. The only sign I had was the amount of food I could eat. Guest guest
There are a few things that come to mind - nuts, cheese, beans, legumes, soy. Some protein drinks come in soy and whey which are okay for vegetarians I think.
