Thanks, Ellen! Honey gives me almost instant RECTAL gas

and my face starts sporting blisters and a yeast rash. Just wondering why.

Maybe you're allergic to a particular type. Also, though a lot of people recommend raw honey, I find that I can't tolerate it very well -- and I'm pretty advanced on the diet. That could also be an issue.n ______________________________A funny, touching gift book for cat lovers. One more note on honey.....India recently headlined a scandal regarding the antibiotics that are making it into the honey. Apparently, beekeepers will give sugar-water and antibiotics, among other things, to keep the hive 'healthy' and the antibiotics make it into the honey. Even Australia's Capilano honey was found to have some antibiotics. Interestingly, India has no guidelines for things like this for importing, only other countries who import Indian products do. Consequently, items not good enough for export or not good enough for Western export, make it back onto the Indian market. Lovely, huh?AmeliaTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Tue, September 28, 2010 10:09:49 PMSubject: Re: Re: Kind of Sugar In Honey?

Knowing how little the FDA actually tests and the problems w/ the dwindling # of

bees in the good ol' USofA makes me suspect that this might be happening here

more than we know. The more humans I get to know the more skeptical the more I

am!

Wow. Next thing I know I will have to get my own bees!

I have been getting my honey from a local supplier and we have had no issues.

My daughter goes through a ton of it so if she was reacting we would know. If

possible I would try to find a local farmers market or a local supplier. I

would think that they would not put that stuff in their honey as they rely on

their reputation.
