Guest guest
Hi guys, I guess it is a good sign that I have cold symptoms, haha. Hopefully feel better tomorrow though. Just a couple of questions for anyone that may know: 1. If something is juiced, or the flavour comes out of it, ie herbs, and it is SCD legal, but is beyond my stage, is it ok to have as long as I'm not having the fibrous part? Also, I'm meant to be peeling and cooking all fruit, so what about juicing it? ie pineapple? Obviously it isn't cooked, so does that make it illegal? I read on pecanbread.com about using grape juice for jelly, so I'm presuming pineapple is ok. It would be great to get some vitamins via fresh fruit. 2. I don't know much about casein, I know I'm intolerant to dairy, but am wondering if the dry curd cottage cheese is not sitting with me properly. I've just assumed that it is ok for me to have as it is in the intro diet, and my bowel is so much better from doing the SCD, but my stomach is tender to touch most of the time and I'm wondering if it could be that I'm not tolerating it. Anyone else experience this and know about casein? and 3. Could me being potentially intolerant to the DCCC be helping make me constipated. It is odd tho, as I don't feel in pain from it, just not really going. I did an enema after the first week, which helped, but then haven't passed much since, and had a litre of prune juice in the last few days with not much change. Also been having baking soda. I'm pretty active and am wondering if the food is perhaps being used so quickly that there's not much left over? Any help and information would be much appreciated. Guest guest
The calcium in the DCCC can act as a binder. It seems to help with D so perhaps it is making you constipated. The laxative effect of the prune juice can also be irritating to the bowels, and a litre of it may be making you sore. You may want to cut out the DCCC and see if you feel better. It is probably too soon for any raw fruit, but you can cook it and blend it for a nice sauce or gelatin base. Hope you feel better, PJ > > Hi guys, > > I guess it is a good sign that I have cold symptoms, haha. Guest guest
I know two of my kids get wicked stomach cramps from dairy. One of which was tested positive for a dairy allergy and we were asked to test to see if it was just the lactose or the casein by giving lactose free milk. Less than a 1/4 later he was having major issues. I had taken dairy out before he was tested because I had noticed a link between it and the kids have stomach cramps. After taking it out, my son stopped snoring and having sleeping issues as well. So you could very well be intolerant to the casein. I would pull it out and not eat any dairy for a bit and see how you are. If you get better, stay off it for just a little bit more then try adding a little back in. If you react when you add it back in, I would keep it out. Hope this helps, Francine > > Hi guys, > > 2.
