The things I would consider mentioning are medical reasons for obesity, comorbidities that might make it harder to loose weight and/or exercise, types of things that get harder to do as one gains weight, and medications that might have an effect on weight gain (ie steroids, some anti-depressants). You might also want to come up with some sort of example to help people visualize it. The only thing that comes to mind is one we did for understanding blindness. We were paired off and asked to describe an object to our partner as if they were a blind person.
