Guest guest
Hello everyone, It was very good to come across this site. I wish I did that earlier. My son is 22 months old. When he was 6 mos old, we noticed that he has flat head on the right side. We showed him to our family doctor. She said that nothing could be done as we were too late. At 13 mos we got to know that we could have gotten him a corrective helmet from Sick Kids in Toronto if he was less than 12 years of age. I searched day and night on the internet and found that 2 companies- Cranial Tech. and Starband can help, but are only in the US. Because of financial issues and our concern for our child's safety, we did not go ahead with the decision of getting him a band. However, his head shape has been haunting us and I contacted the Cranial Tech staff again and got an appointment. Please advise whether the treatment at this will have any benefit, and can it cause any harm to the brain. I would appreciate if you could answer as soon as possible as we have very little time on our hands. Thanks
Guest guest
Hi,You may want to post on the olderplagio group olderplag as well.My son has been banded at 18 mos (15 adjusted) and is still wearing his starband, he is now 23 mos. Because there's obviously been very little growth, results have been very subtle but still absolutely worth it.My son's plagio was mild and I decided to do it anyway. I would definetly go ahead with the eval so you can get some measurments and most importantly find out if they would be willing to make a band for him. To my knowledge there's no harm in the band . I would also strongly recommend alternative treatments like chiro and Craniosacral therapy. For these you would find more info on the older plagio group.Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. , Tampa, FL, 23 mos, mild plagio, Starband for 5 mos, chiro & CST Plagiocephaly From: newid.200947@...Date: Thu, 24 Dec 2009 06:34:44 +0000Subject: doc band for 22 month old Hello everyone,It was very good to come across this site.
