Guest guest
After about a year on SCD, I stopped tolerating carrots and green beans (undigested bits in stool). After a couple more months, I stopped tolerating all vegetables (caused stomach pain). I think it was because I didn't have enough stomach acid. Once I started taking Betaine HCl in June, I was able to start eating veggies again. I can even eat some of them raw now! I haven't tried carrots again though, I suppose I should put that on my list :-). But came back 2 days after starting broccoli. So I did the same again and I don't have any more rabbits dots! (I eat winter squash/pumpkin, carrot and cauliflower, tried peas yesterday). > > Kariane > scd 13 months > www.scdandme.com >
Guest guest
I had a similar thing happen. I used zucchini so much at first I got sick of it. Then this summer (after a year on SCD) I tried zucchini again and boy, talk about getting really sick! It isn't a stomach acid problem as I have taken HCl for years, and I take enzymes, too. My theory is that I just have " over-used " zucchini for now so I will leave it alone for awhile. Perhaps carrots and beans could be the same for you and you just need a good " vacation " from them. Guest guest
Thats " good " (ironic..) that I'm not alone just suddenly stop tolerating vegetables I didn't eat carrots this summer because they where so visible in the bm but I eat them now. I'm wondering if its just a bad yeast flare or what it is... karianne scd 13 months > > I had a similar thing happen. I used zucchini so much at first I got > sick of it. Guest guest
Perhaps it is just a flare that doesn't quite seem like one. I certainly have to cut back on a lot of other things during a flare. Glad you got your carrots back! Guest guest
It's quite possible! I can eat green beans now, but haven't tried carrots for many many months. I hear you on the zucchini. I loved it initially, and now can't stand it. I haven't eaten it in probably a year, but the thought of it still makes me think YUCK. Funny, I've eaten the yogurt every day for 2 years, but still love it. I seem to only get vegetable and meat fatigue ;-). Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > > I had a similar thing happen. Guest guest
I hadn't really thought about it but I really only get vegetable fatigue. Meats I can only eat chicken and a bit of beef anyhow, and fruits are always fine (except three I can't have without rash) though I don't understand why as it seems like I should have trouble with plenty of fruit. Zucchini is still very yuck for me, too. I can hardly believe I ate so much of it last year. I hear you on the zucchini. I loved it initially, and now can't stand it.
