Guest guest
>Dear Jellifying Katja, I checked back in for the first time yesterday and saw your post. Thanks for the welcome back. My cruise was great. Good food, good shows, some great dancing. The islands were beautiful. When we got back we watched that new movie " Into the Blue " and it was filmed on one of the islands we were on! We got some great deals bartering at one of the islands. I came back much tanner, and only gained a couple of pounds, thank goodness, as I am trying to keep off the 25 lbs I lost from surgery. When I went to my ortho right before I left on my trip he said my OS had told him he still wanted my splint on because he wanted my bite to continue to be stabilized for a while. WHAT?! As if 10 weeks weren't a long time already. My ortho, however, removed my splint (bless the man) because he felt confident about the position of my teeth. And we struck a compromise. He said he would take it off for my trip, and I am going back into see both him and my OS on Wednesday morning (their offices are right next to eachother). If they feel that my bite needs to be further stabilized, my ortho will make me a new splint, one that can pop in and out so I can remove it to eat, and most likely would only wear it at night. Do I really think that is a hard compromise? I think not. The best of both worlds, still being extra cautious, and still being able to eat, and brush my teeth like a normal person. Sorry to hear about your kidney stones. I've never had them, but had serious kidney infections during pregnancy and right after with my oldest daughter, so I know how painful anything wrong in that area is. Also know how " fun " those great kidney ultrasounds can be. I swear, I thought the technician's hand was completely sunk into my back while she was looking around. I'm hoping to, with my husband's help, upload some pictures thin weekend. I'm not sure what's going to happen. On Friday, as soon as we got back to Florida's airport to fly home, my sister called to tell my husband that his sister had got in some trouble with the law and had her baby taken by the state. We called child protective services, and they are interested in having us take his neice for a while, even though two other family members are fighting to gain custody. The social worker felt we were the most stable ones, and had reserves about the other family members. So, by the end of the week we may get our 2 and 1/2 month neice to care for. We already have three kids, 3 and 1/2, 7 and 9 and thought we were done with babies, but are excited with the prospect of getting to help out. So right now we are getting our home ready for possible inspections, and getting everything lined out just in case. Amazing how this time last week on our trip we would have never thought that in just a week our family could grow by an extra member. Hope all goes well today at your appointment. Talk to you soon. Signing off. Guest guest
Hey, Cruisin' Connie - Welcome back to the real world! Glad to hear you and your hubby had a great time; the food is the best - it's good that you didn't gain too much weight although it's easy to do on those ships! I liked hearing about your compromise concerning the splint. Best wishes tomorrow at your OD and OMS appointments. I'm sure everything will be just fine and you will continue to be splint- free.// My teeth are continuing to move like crazy; my OD is very pleased with my progress. He changed my wires last Tuesday - replaced the #16's with a #17 Nickel-titanium on top and a #16 stainless-steel on the bottom. He also put powerchains on the top between my two front teeth and also on the entire bottom. He says it's " space consolidation " time, aka closing the gaps. I made an appointment with my OMS for December; his office is on the way back to work from my Ortho.// Well, that's it for now. Take care, and welcome home! ~~~ Diane (Idaho) :-)#) // > >Dear Jellifying Katja, > > I checked back in for the first time yesterday and saw your post. > Thanks for the welcome back. > > My cruise was great.
