Guest guest
According to the doctors who have presented at the Convention, RSS is ABSOLUTELY not a hereditary syndrome. It is a congenital syndrome, meaning it is post-conception anomoly! There is NOT a 50% chance of getting RSS. Even the UPD 7 chromosome issue (uniparental disomoy) is only present in 10-12% of cases... ****************************************************************************** *** Just curious if it can happen as an insult during pregnancy? Our birthmom concealed her pg, even from her husband, until the day before she delivered a 6lb, 9oz baby! I have wondered if some of his other issues where because she restricted his enviroment (possibly not even getting all the oxygen he needed)...so I would be curious to know how it happens post-conception? thanks a bunch! deb...mom to four fab adopted kiddos... Guest guest
Hi Deb, I just wanted to say that I personally was told by the genetisist that it was absolutely nothing that was done during pregnancy that " caused " RSS. And I was very worried about that because I had surgery and major treatments during pregnancy. It was just coincidence. I still wonder but that's what the doctors say.
