Guest guest
So I'm nearly 12-weeks post op from upper LeFort I and lower jaw surgery, and i'm STILL puffy...not so much that people actually say anything, but I can clearly see the slight chipmunk-cheeks in the mirror, and can feel the still-swollen tissue beneath my cheeks. I'm very happy with my new bite, but just dying for this swelling to finally subside so I can decide whether I'm happy with my new appearance (because so far, I'm not...I just don't look all that different than before). Let me ask this: for those of you who are happy with your post-op change in appearance, just how long was it until your face settled into what you would call its " final " post-op form? My cousin who had this surgery told me that it was a full 6- months until she really saw the " new her " . But what confuses me is that I look at the before/after pics in the Photos section and it seems that nearly everyone who has a dramatic positive change in appearance looks strikingly better just two or three weeks post-op. But most people tell me that they can't see any difference in my face and its been nearly 3 months.
Guest guest
Hello, I'm five months post-op due to re-ocurring infections my face is still swollen, the swelling is worse on one side than the other. I was able to roughly see the difference in my face a few days after surgery when I looked in the mirror for the first time. Though I was badly swollen I was able to see that my nose was no longer small and flat and I had cheek bones for the first time in my life!! I'm getting frustrated with the swelling too, but soon we both will be able to see the " end " result. I asked my surgeon a few weeks down the line when would the swelling all go, I was told pre and post op that it could take several months for the swelling to go down and that I just need to be patient easier said than done! sarah --------------------------------- Yahoo!
