Guest guest
Hi all, I am Helene, some of you may remember me from several years ago. I am four years post-op from an RNY. This has been a wonderful adventure, with many struggles for me. My weight dropped from 350 to 150, and I now range from about 185-195. I would like to get back down to 175, which sounds high for someone 5' 5 " , but I am very happy even where I am now. If it wasn't for the constant fear of gaining even more, I would be happy with how I look and feel. I can't believe the changes in my life over these past four years. I am writing to introduce myself, but also to seek help for my niece, who is 25 years old, and 2 years post op with an RNY. She has lost 150 pounds, but has not been at all well lately - has " spells " that seem to be getting worse. Seh's had all kinds of blood work done, heart monitoring tests, EKGs, etc, everything is coming back negative, although her blood pressure is very high when she has the spells. There's starting to wonder if they could somehow be related to the surgery - if there's something they are missing. Here is how she describes what is happening to her: When they start out I get very hot-like I was just placed in a fire place. From there I get like a cloud that comes over my face which then progresses to complete dizziness and I can't even see straight. I have to stay seated because if I move I really feel like I will fall down. They last for about 20 minutes-sometimes longer. If anyone has any ideas what this might be, I'd appreciate any opinions. She does have a call in to her WLS, but is starting to feel very scared and frustratrated. Thanks. Helene
