Guest guest Posted January 28, 2004 Report Share Posted January 28, 2004 As a distal RNY, I have to do a lot of protein. However, my surgeon also does and has done VBG and adjustable bands. He tells all his patients to drink protein (1 think 2 or 3 a day) and take vitamins, because if they restrict their food intake enough to lose weight, it is very difficult, and impossible for a lot of people, to get enough protein and iron, even if they don't malabsorb.
