Guest guest
Hello, I was born with a cleft lip and palate and have had 32 surgeries so far. I had braces for 5 years when I was younger and had them put back on June last year in prep for jaw surgery. I had upper jaw surgery, major nose reconstruction, cheek bone and bone graft surgery. The surgery went well and the results are amazing I look so much better now and have a smile that I like. if I had to do the surgery again I would without a doubt, --------------------------------- Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi Truby, I am having much the same situation as you are. I am still preop though. I will have upper and lower jaw surgery and lower nose septum repair during the first surgery, and a second upper nose reconstruction at a later date. It is a long process, but not as long as the 13 years you have already gone through. Right now, they are moving my straight teeth out of position. At least out of position for my current jaw location. Once that is done (I am hoping for about 18 months in braces preop), I will have the jaw and lower nose surgery, and the second nose surgery I am thinking will be in about 6 months (I hope). There are lots of posts on the board about recovery and outcomes, and lots of pictures in the photo gallery, and reviewing these will help you get a better idea of the process this type of surgery encompasses. I spent about a month looking at daily posts before I even began posting!! lol It just helped me better understand what I would be dealing with, and helped me make my decision about what I wanted to do. I am sure some post op vets will post to you also. But take some time and go through a few weeks of past posts and you will get a feel for the types of issues and concerns people who are just post op, a few months post op and those who are mostly through the entire process post op are having. It really helps, and you can do that while you are waiting for replies. Good luck with your research! Hugs, Fran > > Hi I'm a 23 year old female, and i have had trrouble with my moth > and teeth as far back as 2yrs old. i had braces and other stuff for > about 13 years and i'm still not happy with the out come, so i > went to a new othro and he told me that my jaws need to be > relocated. Guest guest
And worse, the web site is hawking a book that several members have found to be expensive and unworthy. It is my belief that you can get all the information you need from your doctors, and that this site, site 2, and Fiddlesticks' Geocities site will provide any ancillary details and discussions you may need. And you won't have to fork over the big bucks to get any of them! Guest guest
I bought this book right when I found out about this sx. I would NOT buy it again. It is mainly a personal diary of this guy that went through the surgery. You can get all of that here on this site. It was quite a waste of money. I might be able to email it to you if I still have it on my computer. Guest guest
Krystal - I would be interested in seeing this ebook. Would it be possible for you to email it to me if it is still on your computer? I had contemplated buying it but then read that it was a waste of money, so I didn't bother. I'm having my surgery next June for an underbite; my procedures will include a BSSO to set back my mandible and a LeFort 1-piece to advance my maxilla and drop it down in front. Thank you in advance for emailing it if you can. ~~~ Diane (Idaho)--- In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " kr_ziegler " <kr_ziegler@y...> wrote: > > I bought this book right when I found out about this sx. Guest guest
I agree. You need to send an e-mail to the group moderator. He has to contact the group's owner to take action. > > Can this person be blocked? They're just hawking a web site.
