Guest guest
I'm sorry that you are going through such a hard time. I eat a lot of avocados, coconut oil and olive oil. I am 5-7 pounds underweight right now. I was eating ghee but I may be reacting to that as well. I can't have dairy like yogurt or DCCC. I can eat egg yolks so far. I have terrible reactions to egg white. I eat a lot of cooked carrots and one banana daily. Good luck and take care, June > > Any suggestions on how I can begin to gain some weight back ( or even just stop loosing so much). > > I recently went back through the intro and began adding foods yesterday. Guest guest
I have been fianlly gaining in last month. I had found coconut oil seemed to up loosing weight for me so reduced it. I got reactions with carrots and bananas. Finally tried walnut butter(made it) and date blendered , added water for a smoothie. couldnt handle eggs till bought ground fed ones from farmers market. sO you have to just try and later rety as heal whats works. Avocados blendered with garlic and lemon juice. Ate cheese again and got fever and shaky and nausea, so will stop that. Hope you find what works and keep getting well! Guest guest
It's good to test eggs separately. Just be aware that one can be allergic to the yolks and OK with the whites, which is how I've always been. So if the yolks don't work for you give a little taste to egg white sometime and see about that. Thank you. I think I will try egg yolks since eggs hurt me last time but I never separated the whites out.

I would rather not, > thank you.>Contrary to popular opinion what at least one member here says is her experience, the vast majority of human beings do not gain weight from fat, but rather from carbohydrates. In fact, most people are likely to lose weight, and significantly, from eating primarily fats and proteins but low- or almost-no-carbs. So you should try to eat as many carbs as possible if you're trying to gain weight. One of these days when I have time, I'll explain the biology and science behind this, which Taubes researched and outlines so well in his book Good Calories, Bad Calories. However, eating too many carbs may adversely effect your disgestive system. But if you stick to honey and fruits, maybe not.n -- ______________________________A funny, touching gift book for cat lovers. Guest guest
n, I totally agree with you. I was just reflecting on that today - thinking about how even though I eat ALL this fat now, I still don't gain any weight, and my tummy is almost flat now. I am pretty standard weight, and lost about 10 pounds from starting SCD a few monts ago - but I am still at an average weight, pants size 8-10 girl. Anyhow, I saw a GI doc today, and when I mentioned the coconut oil helping my pain/inflamation go down, she wasn't surprised. I still think it's a great addition to this diet (if one tolerates it okay) but it isn't a weight gainer. But I can totally see how carbs are! If I were to eat a few days of SAD diet (pizza, bagels, homemade bread) I bet I would gain 10 pounds in a week! Probably 20 pounds in a month! Not recommended at all, but ture. So I would say, ya, to gain weight, load up on legal carbs! Which my understanding is, is not a good idea when fighting yeast? Maybe try drinking extra amounts of fruit juice, like welches, I imagine it's more easliy digested, so it wouldn't be able to feed as many bad bugs in your gut. Just a hunch. OJ, if you can handle it. I can only do Welches 100% Purple Grape personally. Maybe some fruit/yogur smoothies too. Wish I knew how to offer better advice! Just know that others of us are going through some similar frustrations - after finding out the GI wants me to have $2,600 in more tests, (my lousy insurance has a $7,500 deductible) well, I am going to start seeing a naturopath instead! And I found one who wrote a book on anti-inflamatory diets, sounds like she is pretty clued in, so I hope I am on the right trail. Wish you the best! - SCD 4 Months > > > Any suggestions on how I can begin to gain some weight back ( or even > > just stop loosing so much). > > > > I recently went back through the intro and began adding foodsyesterday. > > I cannot eat diary, eggs, or cheese. Guest guest
Great idea. Is honey ok when I have brisk d? Another post here suggested honey may feed yeast overgrowth, and just started takin s. Bouldarii to see if that's the issue. I did eat a fruit smoothie for 2 months and lots of when things were going well, is that any indication of how it will go reintroducing honey ? > > > > > Any suggestions on how I can begin to gain some weight back ( or even > > > just stop loosing so much). > > > > > > I recently went back through the intro and began adding foodsyesterday. > > > I cannot eat diary, eggs, or cheese. Guest guest
Hope the visits go well. Keep us in the loop. Suck re: insurance deductible. I am trying to get some legal cider because the grape juice hurt my stomach the first time around. But will try oj as well. I, too miss carbs from the old times and really do appreciate your imput. It keeps things in perspective. Thanks for the tips. > > > > > Any suggestions on how I can begin to gain some weight back ( or even > > > just stop loosing so much). > > > > > > I recently went back through the intro and began adding foodsyesterday. > > > I cannot eat diary, eggs, or cheese.
