Guest guest
jacob was very much like this and this was befor we knew he was reflux and all. it was like i would feed him say three bits and 20 bites would come up...projectial yuck... the more cunky and thick the better it would stay down. and for jacob it also got worst on the baby food them the milk...i did have anyone guiding me back then so what i did was find things that were more chunck or real food like he love apple cearel bars and caned veggies.......now i am not saying that summer will tolarate this or even try to chew(gum) it enough to get these thing down but it is what worked for us. cara mom to jacob 9 anderkat3 wrote: I had a question to ask you about my daughter Summer ( 7.5 mos SGA possible RSS) Sometimes when she eats her baby food, she throws it all back up. I don't know if it is reflux or not (she has reflux) because it seems different than the spitting up of milk. She will not gag, it just comes up, A LOT, and do it about 3 or 4 times. It will be more than she took in and covers her clothes, and is just way too much to clean up with paper towels....any ideas? I havn't seen this before with my other 3, even with my son who has extreme sensory issues and would throw up from that as a baby, but it was different. Nothing noticable seems to cause this with Summer. Thanks. mom to Autumn RSS, Summer SGA possible RSS, Ocean, Skye
Guest guest
Dear , Yes, it is common. Sometimes the heavier food will stay down, sometimes not. I found personally that the baby food that was preserved with citric acid tended to come up very quickly on Connor. Unfortunately, all baby food is preserved with citric acid. Read the labels. I started tasting his baby food and if it was sour, I either mixed in some Linseed oil and vanilla custard, or didn't give it to him at all. It always aggravated his reflux. Always! Do you give her the prevacid before eating? That will help. Baby foods to avoid are Squash, Sweet potato, anything with pineapple and hmmm, gosh it's been so long I can't remember. Another trick I did was taking 1/2 tsp of powder formula and mixing it in the baby food. Heinz baby food is excellent for a highter calorie base per serving. They add egg yolks to beef up the calories and protein. Of course, one must make sure your little girl doesn't have an egg allergy first!!!! However, the sensitivity tends to be with egg whites first. Yolks are a bit safer. I can't remember the stats on your little girl. If you need any other help, just cyber holler. > > I had a question to ask you about my daughter Summer ( 7.5 mos SGA > possible RSS) Sometimes when she eats her baby food, she throws it all > back up.
