This may be why many (but not all by any means) morbidly obese women have difficulty conceiving babies. For many of us, when we lose the weight, things normalize with the hormones (though it can be a wild ride for a while!) and become much more regular with menstrual cycles. Increases in fertility are also frequently seen (double up on birth control if pregnancy is a concern). Alas... for me... I'm now entering that lovely period of life where my schedule, which previously had been clock work, begins to go haywire. A while back, I had a four month time span where I had six periods -- and now ... well, I seem to be on the every other month plan!
