If the doc you are asking about is really bad, the one you're talking to won't say a whole lot (liability issues) but, if they tell you a Doc is really good... well, sometimes it just means that they talked to the guy at a seminar and liked him. They also know surprisingly little about each other's practices. I recently posted about a surgeon here in Houston (who only does VBG) that told a patient they could only get RNY done at a small outlying suburban hospital by a doctor that he " didn't even know if he was certified. " If you want to know.... ask the doc's office .... then follow up with other patients. Guest guest
They don't want to admit to a mistake. Pam Re: washington state revision Some docs will not revise their OWN, actually. That is bizarre. >
Guest guest
Dr. Oh did my revision on 9/26/02 and he was not my original surgeon. There are quite a few Oh-revisions here actually. ---------------------------------------- Terry Mayers 5DollarHosting.com http://www.5dollarhosting.com .... because it shouldn't cost a fortune to make a fortune! washington state revision I was told that Dr Oh would not do revisions on anyone he did not do originally. This is what I have heard from Dr. in Portland. My present doc finally did the revision on me, though he did not do the original surgery. My original surgeon is no longer doing WLS and is in California, not where I live now. What are the legal issues re: doing surgery on someone elses patient? Is it unethical? Guest guest
This is patently untrue. I have been to him about a revision myself (Weber in Seattle was my original surgeon) and my friend (Simonowitz in Bellevue was her original surgeon) has been to him about a revision too. Your doctor in Portland was trying to keep your business, I would guess. Of course it's not unethical to operate on someone else's patient (IMO) if you have that patient's informed consent and there's medical necessity. I would say it's unethical to lie about another surgeon's practice, though. Dr. Oh does many revisions and very few of them are for his own patients. Guest guest
I live in Georgia and was one the messes that Vitalady talked about Dr Oh repairing. I am fine now, and he revised me two years ago. Peachy hugs,
