Guest guest
I went to the doctor's on Thursday and they couldn't draw blood from either arm. Said I was too dehydrated so I go back Monday. Been drinking water, ice chips, grapes. Maybe potassium would help, just curious what foods (besides salads) have high water content. Thanks, been craving guacamole so eating that too. i just read winter squash and avocado and banana of course have potassium so that should helpeileen >> Does anyone know the best foods for hydration? > > -- > 41 cd> scd 12/05> -- 41 cd scd 12/
Guest guest
Kids on the K list drink a version of Elaine's electrolyte drink every day. One of its benefits is that there is never any trouble finding their veins! Maybe you can drink it for several days before a blood draw. , mom to > > > > > > Does anyone know the best foods for hydration? > > > > > > -- > > > 41 cd > > > scd 12/05 > > > > > > > > > > > > > -- > 41 cd > scd 12/05 >

Guest guest
Eileen, don't feel guilty--the honey is an integral part of the electrolyte drink. It is what helps the minerals get into the cells. , mom to > > forgot that i've been rehydrating with that and always have good veins BUT my BP is up - which is awesome for me!!! :-) may continue that drink forever - plus I love the lil honey i put in (but shouldn't) LOL > eileen
Guest guest
Oops! I should have added that the grape juice version is just as good for this as the honey version. , mom to > > > > > > > > > > Does anyone know the best foods for hydration? > > > > > > > > > > -- > > > > > 41 cd > > > > > scd 12/05 > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > -- > > > 41 cd > > > scd 12/05 > > > > > >

Guest guest
Eating watermelon with a little salt on the slice always helps me rehydrate. Plus, the SCD Electrolyte Drink. And if I am not mistaken, some juices are absorbed through the stomach (but I can’t find that info to confirm). I hope you are feeling better. Guest guest
Watermelon kills me but I've read canteloupe is really good. I may try and get some tomorrow. I know grapes are sweet but it helps with the water/ice chips. Salmon, lettuce and I'm not sure what else. This I just read from the Perricone 3-day hydration diet. I don't think I could do it except the salmon--too much salad and fiber. >> Eating watermelon with a little salt on the slice always helps me rehydrate. > > Carol>> I was gonna suggest watermelon, too. Guest guest
Not sure about juices, but alcohol and water are absorbed through the stomach and hit your blood stream very quickly. This is one of the reasons that drinking causes weight gain, the energy is immediately absorbed and ready to use without any conversion/digestion so whatever other calories you are consuming need to be reduced to balance the alcohol.I would assume juice is the same -- liquid portion absorbed and any solids go through digestion. I am assuming this because I have a friend who had wicked debilitating headaches and orange juice was her immediate fix -- she later found out she was diabetic.AmeliaTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Sun, October 17, 2010 12:30:23 AMSubject: RE: Hydration Foods Eating watermelon with a little salt on the slice always helps me rehydrate.
