Guest guest
that is so kind of you to host others when Dr. Oh does their surgeries. You not only saved them major dollars, but also a good sense of relief because of the sweet care I know that you would give them. I had my surgery in Memphis, 8 hrs away, and I have just learned that my doctor has retired. So I too wondered what I would do if anything ever happened that I needed a revision etc. There is no one in Knoxville that does our surgery---well I take that back--one just started doing the surgery and has done a few. But no one has the expertise or background to really do wls here much less a revision. A revision needs to be done by a very very experienced wls surgeon such as Dr. Oh out your way. He is to be commended to take on revisions, as they are not the same thing and are much more complicated. I am so thankful that so many doctors are now really " getting " it that obesity is a disease and it deserves much attention to learn as much as they can about the surgery and about revisions. I recently had to see an internist who knew nothing about wls and blew me off about it. So I now have to look for another internist who knows or will atleast listen or research it. Twenty years from now I bet our surgery will be so old hat to the docs (all kinds of docs), but in the meantime we will have to help them along as patients. There are people on this list who know so much more than a lot of doctors about wls. But thank goodness for medical science and the doctors willing to go the extra mile for us. Atleast we now have a chance of normalcy of life. I wonder--do any of you know of any doctors in the South that are experienced in revisions? And I wonder if insurance would even cover a revision? Any thoughts gang? Sherry in Knoxville TN BLUZGAL LIFE IS A JOURNEY, NOT A DESTINATION
Guest guest
> The reward in having people here is all mine. I am a lousy hostess. I do not hostess. I don't tourist them or do for. Can't. But I do supply cats for entertainment and healing!<<< Well, this isn't exactly true. I think I remember a middle of the night ER run while was there. And without a moment's hesitation, I must add. And I got to tour Sam's club in a wheel chair and actually saw the mountain several times. But the part about the cats is oh, so true. Wouldn't have healed up without Ray. Give him a kiss for me.
