anyone have their jaw wired shut?

This is my first time visiting this site and I am so excited to find

you all. I am going to have os in May of 06. I am pretty nervous and

have no idea if i am making the right choice. Has any one had

mandibular hyperplasi, I think thats what it is called I have a bad

underbite which is off 11mm. I am told I will have my mouth wired shut

for 6 weeks after surgery, is that normal,anyone been through that. If

you have any wisdom for me it would be greatly appreciated.
