The guy who told me about SCD was banned for talking about it in one of the forums.  I had already been banned previously so that was kind of the final blow.  We ended up talking about it on an empty ezboard so his wife posted starter recies I could read when I was on-line and answer all the questions.  I ended up ordering the book after that but I wouldn't have if I hadn't talked to them awhile first.  The idea of cooking everything from scratch and making yogurt was too overwhelming because I was pretty ill at the time.

 

Nothing there will ever change.  Certain 'friends' still do not speak to me like on FB who were in that group.  I don't belong to any other cd forums now except one and they don't talk diet unless it's holiday recipes that are SAD.

Too many people have to hit rock bottom before they'll admit that they

can help themselves by changing what they eat. It's easier to moan about

how the disease controls their lives rather than taking control of it.

Taking control of your health means taking responsibility.

I visit a crohn's forum for the sole purpose of helping people who bring up SCD

questions. The bulk of the people there though are VERY anti-SCD, even those

that have never tried it. Today, one of them even equated diets to quackery

(except for the low residue diet). Can you believe that?

Oh, I can believe it. It's like the woman who informed me that C.S.

, one of the foremost Christian philosophers of his period had

written about SATANISM, because that's what those horrible Chronicles of

Narnia were. Satanic. Right. Wonderful Christian allegory (if your

particular faith happens to lean in that direction, Platonic Greek

philosophy if it doesn't.)

People are just not bright, some times.

Just now, looking for SCD Hollandaise on-line-- [i probably have it in

a cookbook--tho several are loaned out] I came across a site I'd not

seen before.

It is called Brainfood. The story of the turnaround of a little boy

dx'd with autism, now mainstreamed, and the cookbook the Mom developed.

Interestingly, the Author " .........formerly worked for

ABC News, and is host

of the upcoming cooking show BrainFood. She holds 3 degrees from the

Hopkins University. "

Thought you might like to know.

Also, Marilyn, she lists some SCD websites, however does not seem to

know about this one. She acknowledges both SCd and GAPS.

PS, so, for the sauce-- I am making Moussaka tomorrow-- got it

started tonight, realized it'll be worth waiting to get some ground

lamb, esp since I have a break tomorrow.

However am still not sure what to do for the Bechamel sauce. Help? I

have efrosted DCC, thought some of that, some eggs....some S & P?
