Teeth alignment right after surgery

On day 3 here post-op from my leforte I (upper only) to correct my open bite,

lip

imcompetance and gummy smile. I don't feel too bad all things considered. My

swelling

seemed like it peaked yesterday. It's hard to tell if my lip incompetance is

going to be

better since I am so swollen. I can't smile enough to tell if my gummy smile is

better.

When I bite down, I'm not hitting my back teeth first anymore, so that's a

start! And I can't

push my tongue between my front teeth anymore. Phew.

My right side teeth feel like they contact, but not my left. Looking in the

mirror, the left

look like they almost touch. I can't see any noticeable gap. How perfect is

the bite

supposed to be after surgery, and how much tweaking is done later? I mentioned

it to my

surgeon the day after my surgery and he didn't seem to concerned. It sounded

like the

surgery does the " heavy lifting " so to speak, and then orthodontics and elastics

do the fine

tuning. Did you all have a perfect feeling bite right after surgery?
