Hello everyone I have been trying to firgure out what NAC stands for and I have not been able to so if someone could tell me so I can look into I would appreciate it. I felt silly asking because it seems everyone else new what it was but i just couldnt figure it out. Thanks for the help .

NAC = N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine It is available over the counter here in the US, I am

not familiar with how it is treated in Europe. Many of us who have been advised

by a doctor to take it will purchase it online from a reputable site, or from

one of several Health Food Supplement stores nationwide.

this bill made me realize why I am so frustrated in my pulmonary rehab class.

Everything is geared to COPD and they do not understand the coughing at all and

tell me the wrong reason why I am coughing. Also we need different treatment and

oxygen faster than COPD patients. Our needs are so different it is amazing just

the doctor can prescribe it via prescription -- usually a liquid

or you can get it over the counter at The Vitamin Shoppe, GNC, etc

i used the liquid for a few years until the new prescription plan refused to pay for it

so i had to switch to OTC

Hi Tammy,

I'm sure folks have responded by now, but I've been slow on my email responses. NAC stands for N Acetlcysteine. You can take it in a liquid form from you doctor or in a capsule form from places like GNC, Puritans Pride, etc. Hope this helps.
