Any advice on taking vitamin C before surgery to aid in healing? I've

been taking a multi (vegetable base) for a long time now. I'm

wondering if the extra C will help.

Also, what about sore lips? Did anyone develop any mouth sores after

surgery and if so, what did you use for treatment?

Thanks,

Hi ,

My surgeon recommended that I take an extra 500mg of vitamin C 3 months

before surgery and for about a year after to help with the healing.

It certainly can't do any harm!

Yes i developed lips sores after surgery. My lips took on the

consitency of wood, peeled and blistered. Use vaseline or medicated

lip balm or gel for ulcers such as Herpesan. Also avoid Air Con or

get a huimidifier if possible to keep your lips hydrated. I

currently sleep in 30 heat with no AC to keep my lips hydrated as I

could not put up with the peeling lips. Hopefully it will get better

now after my 4th day post-op.
