Guest guest
At 11 months you need to get started as soon as possible. I think it would improve a lot.KimFrom: J T <jluistor@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Fri, November 5, 2010 3:46:11 PMSubject: Does someone put an helmet with a 6 mm assymetry Hi, I would like to know if someone put a helmet with a plagiocephaly of 6-7 mm (difference between the 2 diagonal) ? My baby's got 11 months. I can see the assymetry on the face and the ear. I see it, the other persons say that they can't appreciate it. And if someone put a helmet, how many milimeters would be improve? A spanish mum Thank you.
Guest guest
Hi, If it bothers you, I would definitely put a helmet on. You should do it as soon as possible. It depends on growth, how much improvement you would get. If you get the helmet very soon, you could go down to normal range (under 3mm). I'm not sure whether you would see improvement in the ear or not, but I would expect the forehead to improve. Guest guest
Oh, another thing. I guess my older son's measurements were around 6mm. It didn't bother me until he was 5 years, and then I could see it. This was because I became sensitive to plagio after my younger son was diagnosed. The safest thing to do is put the helmet on, so it doesn't haunt you in the future. -Kathy On 11/5/2010 2:46 PM, J T wrote: Hi, I would like to know if someone put a helmet with a plagiocephaly of 6-7 mm (difference between the 2 diagonal) ? Guest guest
For the ear you could try cranial manipulation done. We did 4 sessions and while we did not see improvement in the posterior asymmetry (back of the head, at the level it is being measured by starband) we saw improvement in the facial symmetry.
