Guest guest
Outgrowing a proper helmet in 3 WEEKS is highly unlikely, unless your child went through some truly incredible growth spurt. Our 6 1/2 month old is expected to have her Hanger helmet for 3-4 MONTHS. They clearly ordered the fiberglass helmet one size too small for your son, and don't want to admit it. (I suspect that the fiberglass helmet comes in a number of standard sizes, and that the foam is added in, and removed, in order to handle the individual shaping.) I strongly recommend that you speak to the owner/operator. You should mention that you're posting on this and similar sites, and (1) know very well that this is below the " reasonable standard of care " (that is the legal language that may get the owner's attention about a possible lawsuit in small-claims court); and (2) you can definitely make sure that anyone else considering a helmet knows that that facility is incompetent. The facility must know that this is a mistake on its part, and it should provide another helmet for free, or give you your money back. If that facility doesn't handle many helmets (ugh), you may have to encourage the owner to call the Hanger company in order for him to understand that he made a mistake. (Please note that, while I'm a lawyer, I am not a member of the California Bar and am not practicing law when I offer this advice.) > > > > Ladies, > > > > We had a helmet for ds, starting 4m and he outgrew it in 3weeks! Hangar said after his 3weeks of wear he was considered *normal* at 5mm (from 10mm)...our ped thinks they are wrong and we went to a super specialist at Stanford who said he is at 8mm and 97, and they reco a helmet again to expodite the rounding process...has this happened to anyone? Our son is 7 months old now and we know this is all about timing and we are deciding whether or not on the helmet this week... > > > > We are furious at Hangar and think we had an incompetent service provider...has anyone outgrown a helmet in 3weeks? > > > > Would love your thoughts... > > Oliver's Mom > > >
