Guest guest
Steve I expect others will have replied to your question by now, but just in case…. Dealing with candida/yeast is part of dealing with a disturbed gut ecology and having digestive disorders. So we talk about it a lot [grin]. When you have gut dysbiosis and an overwhelmed immune system, candida can easily overgrow, triggering symptoms, mostly immune. I put together some information on yeast and being on SCD. It can be found in the group Files, http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/BTVC-SCD/files/Candida%20or%20Yeast%20Information/ and also on pecanbread.com http://pecanbread.com/f/how/yeast.html .. There is a list of common symptoms in the information. You can also find plenty of information in books and online. Being on SCD is already a big step forward in dealing with candida, as it eliminates the main food for candida, starches. Many people don’t need to do anything different but follow SCD; their gut ecology is restored and their immune system improved enough to kill off any high levels of candida/yeast. But some of us (including me, back when I started SCD) find their yeast-related symptoms bad enough that they fine-tune their SCD food choices in order to kill off the high levels of yeast faster. Some also use antifungal supplements to help speed up the process, but they aren’t required. The common yeast overgrowth symptoms are: genitourinary rashes, excessive fatigue, brain fog, dark circles under the eyes, thrush (white coating on tongue). Kim M. What are the symptoms, how do you know if you suffer from this? Steve SCD - 18/12/
