My experience was 10 months of braces, had surgery last week and now anywhere from 6 -9 months longer of braces. The time lines are flexible because no one can predict how long everything will take for your body, but you deserve to know what his expectations are and be updated regularly. Call the office and ask for 5 min. longer at your next appt to discuss your timeline. (unless your next appt isn't for a long time, in which case you should leave a message for your od and ask he call you).
