Guest guest
Yes, Pink I saw the doc but was disappointed that the stress test had not come in because it still means I can't go to swim or to the Pendleton Center for medically supervised exercise....So I was disappointed a bit but I hope that I will feel up and running in a few weeks with the synteroid. Guest guest
Hi Beth- what is wrong with having thickened bronchials? should I be contacting Dr Hodges my pulmodude? I mean is it a symptom of some other lung disorder???? I will tell my doctor that it is not a symptom of PF when i see her next week. yes, i am so happy that they found my thyroid low. I ws beginning to think I was crazy I was so tired and fatigued all the time! Now, I just have to wait for the results of the stress test. I am curious as to why I wouldhave bronchitis so much that my bronchials have thickened and I'm not coughing much....strange. The stress test hadn't come in but the results of my lab test was that I have a low thyroid. She is startig me on Sythersomething or other...The Xray showed I have either acute-chronic bronchitis and a thickening of the bronchia..l. .she said she didn't give me any antibiotics because she felt it was due to my lung condition. Anyone have thickening of the bronchia? If so what does that mean? Is it something to be concerned about? My blood pressure and heart rate is still extremely high. So, almost there. Guest guest
Joyce, I'm so glad to see you back here. We've been concerned about you! I'm not too surprised to hear that you are hypo thyroid. (low thyroid). The kind of fatigue and weakness you were having in addition to the memory problems and confusion are all symptoms of hypothyroidism. You simply need to take the hormones that your thyroid gland isn't making in the form of a pill. Sometimes it takes some playing around with the dose to get the right balance but once they do you will feel alot better. The thickening of the bronchial tubes is a symptom of chronic bronchitis. This is a different type of lung disease from the hypersensitivity pneumonitis. I'm concerned that your doctor is just lumping this all in together as part of your "lung condition". Thickening of the bronchial tubes is not a symptom of hypersensitivity pneumonitis or IPF or NSIP or any of the ILD's. If as your doctor says you do not have an an acute infection that can be treated with antibiotics then unfortunately your situation just became somewhat more complicated. Joyce I wish there was something I could do to help you. Please take care of yourself and ask the doctors lots of questions and don't leave until you understand the answers. Consider yourself hugged! Guest guest
Joyce, Thickening of the bronchial tubes is a symptom of chronic bronchitis. If your bronchial tubes are thicker there is less room for air to pass through. Specifically it can make it harder for your body to exhale and get rid of the old air that's full of carbon dioxide. Chronic bronchitis is a form of obstructive lung disease whereas your hypersensitivity pneumonitis is an restrictive lung disease. They are not at all the same thing. You should absolutely be calling your pulmo. If your primary doctor used the term chronic bronchitis this is a new development that could change your treatment. It is a different lung condition from what's already been diagnosed. You are very strong and I admire you. Please don't hesitate to ask questions or just vent anytime you need to. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help! Guest guest
Joyce Follow up on the bronchitis and also keep following up with the Cardiologist regarding the stress test and your blood pressure and pulse rate. I know not being able to exercise is annoying but be thankful the facility you go to was looking out for you. > > Joyce, > Thickening of the bronchial tubes is a symptom of chronic bronchitis. Guest guest
Hi Joyce, Do you have any symptons that would support thickening of the bronchia? I have what I can only explain as a sore throat...feels like there a sore bump/lump when I swallow. My primary doc thinks it is acid reflux. I was on Prolosec OTC but thst didn't work; tried another that didn't work and now am taking two other drugs. The soreness has moderated but isn't gone. I had stopped taking NAC thinking that might be the cause because it gave me heartburn if I didn't take it with food. Without the NAC the result was a thickening of the mucous in my throat. Restarted the NAC. Any insight you or others can give will be appreciated. Peace, Ted, 78, IL > > > Hi, finally I saw the doctor today.
