I have NEVER heard of this! I've heard of rapid growth... but they shave out the foam and create more space. Did you get any adjustments in those 3 weeks???

I wonder what kind of helmet you had. I know Hanger sometimes provides different helmets other than hanger.

I think your ortho either wasn't well trained or that was a bad band.

You should contact Hanger Corporate directly and ask for help. If you even want to go with Hanger again.

You mentioned Stanford.... I know several people here have used CRIS and have been happy with the starband from there.

help! second helmet

Ladies,

We had a helmet for ds, starting 4m and he outgrew it in 3weeks! Hangar said after his 3weeks of wear he was considered *normal* at 5mm (from 10mm)...our ped thinks they are wrong and we went to a super specialist at Stanford who said he is at 8mm and 97, and they reco a helmet again to expodite the rounding process...has this happened to anyone? Our son is 7 months old now and we know this is all about timing and we are deciding whether or not on the helmet this week...

We are furious at Hangar and think we had an incompetent service provider...has anyone outgrown a helmet in 3weeks?

Would love your thoughts...

If you are near Stanford you should definitely check out CIRS for a second opinion.  They have offices in Palo Alto and Oakland:

We went to the office in Oakland and had a great experience there.
