Guest guest
Hi Happy, I use Blistex for my lips which have become sort of chronically chapped with my braces. The vaseline just didn't absorb well, and I was reapplying it constantly. I keep tubes and pots of it everywhere - in my purse, my car, next to my bed, and in my pocket. I am using it constantly! lol Good luck to you with this. Hugs, Fran > > My lips are so dry and sore. I have been using Vasoline but dosn't > feel any better. Guest guest
There is a new product out made by neosporin or polysporin... I forget which. Anyway, it is for severely dry chapped painful lips. I haven't tried it yet as it is new, but maybe it would be really helpful?? I found that it just took some time for my lips to calm down and heal. I was rx'd something at the hospital and used that along with good old vaseline. Good luck! They'll be feeling better in no time, as hard as that is to believe right now! Guest guest
I'm 19 days post-op, and I've had huge success with Arbonne products. I have been using their lip balm, but also using a facial cream, and just putting on my lips. They make a cream called Rejuvenating cream, which is all botanical and contains no mineral oil, so my lips have absorbed it. My doctor couldn't even believe how good my lips looked! They were so dry right out of the hospital, but I started putting that on immediately and they have healed perfectly. They haven't felt dry at all. You can probably use any facial moisturizer, but make sure it has no mineral oil, petrolateum, or petroleum in it; that's what Vaseline is and your skin can't absorb it. You'll want to use something with botanical oils, which is why I've been using Arbonne. You have to order it from a consultant; I have a wholesale account with them and have some extra sample packets of it so if you're interested, just email me and I can mail you some. Also, again I'm 19 days post-op; I regretted so much having done this until the last few days. I think most everyone feels that way the first week or so. In the end it will be worth it! I go in tomorrow to see if I have to have more " tweaking " done with my surgery. I have had a rough going. Wishing us both luck, Christy > > > > > > My lips are so dry and sore. Guest guest
Aquaphor by Eucerin. Ask for it at the pharmacy or cosmetics counter at the drugstore. It works really well. > > My lips are so dry and sore. I have been using Vasoline but dosn't > feel any better. Any other ideas? >
Guest guest
Hello, I use 100% Shea Butter for my severely chapped lips and it works really well. My lips get very chapped due to my braces, but the shea butter is very soothing and works fast to soften up and heal my lips. I buy it from www.loccitane.com and the delivery is usually within a week. L'Occitane is a French company that sells shea butter products. A large tin costs less than $35 and lasts a l-o-n-g time; it can also be used as a rough skin moisturizer for elbows and heels, hair treatment, etc. and has no added ingredients. ~~~~ Diane (Idaho)- -- In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " happygirl22777 " <happygirl22777@y...> wrote: > > My lips are so dry and sore. Guest guest
Happygirl22777 - I just tried to send you an email but got a MailDaemon message saying your email address has been discontinued or disconnected. Please email me when you can (I have some shea butter for you to try, but I don't know your address to send it to you.)~~~ Diane (Idaho) > > My lips are so dry and sore. Guest guest
Yes; you can go to www.lesliedeery.myarbonne.com and go to the " Shop Online " link. Send her a quick email before you do so that she can give you her consultant discount. I have been slathering the Rejuvenating cream all over my face because my face felt like leather after the surgery; it has helped so much. Does yours? I still have no feeling in my bottom lip, and most of my face is numb or tingly still from my eyes down. It's gotten WAY better and I think I'll get all the feeling back, but I guess it'll take a while. My appointment went well; next week I meet with my ortho. and we start again with orthodontic work. He will basically be the determiner if I need to go back in to have my jaw moved back more, so we'll see! I'm 3 weeks post-op today, and today was the first day I drank from a cup without dripping all over the place! Yay! I posted my pics under Christy on site 2. Hope you are doing better? As my friend told me, the worst is over!! Hope you're doing well... Christy > > > > > > > > My lips are so dry and sore. I have been using Vasoline but > > dosn't > > > > feel any better. Guest guest
I started by using white vasoline at the hospital (felt great) unfortunately the package got thrown out. When I came home, I used chapstick, then Blistex, but finally ended up with regular vasoline...seemed to stay on better and remove all the dead skin. But also, water, water, water...you need to make sure you stay hydrated to repair the lips. > > My lips are so dry and sore. I have been using Vasoline but dosn't > feel any better. Guest guest
I'm 9 weeks post-op and still having problems with chapped lips. They took quite a beating! I got a tube of cherry Vasoline and use it all the time. Its the only thing that's helped. Plenty of water, too. > > > > My lips are so dry and sore. Guest guest
I don't know if you have a " Body Shop " store where you live, but they have a great lip butter, it seems to last longer than the vasline did. > > > > > > My lips are so dry and sore.
