Guest guest
- Even though I'm pre-op, I will share with you what my OMS told me back in July at my Orthognathic Surgery consult. The first week is clear liquids; the 2nd thru 4th weeks are blenderized foods; the 5th and 6th weeks are soft/no chew foods; and then after that I will ease into real foods but nothing too chewy or hard. My OMS jokingly commented that he would be treating me to a Mc's hamburger at the six-week mark, so we'll see.LOL He says the important thing is to get my mouth open. He also says that he wants me to be talking at the two-week mark, even if all I can do is talk thru my teeth (I will be splinted until week #4). Hope this helps. ~~~ Diane (Idaho) > > So, how long after upper and lower surgery can one eat a decent meal? > Sorry if this is a repeat question. Guest guest
the first two weeks I had to be on strained liquids with no particles, after that I can eat anything blended. I'm at week 4. My OS said at 8 weeks I can begin a soft chew diet Hope wrote:So, how long after upper and lower surgery can one eat a decent meal? Sorry if this is a repeat question. I must have missed the post.
