Guest guest
Hello Irma, I'm from Montreal. I got my surgery at Notre-Dame. My surgeon is in Repentigny (Dre Faucher). I got my surgery on June the 4th, and it took a month between the complete work at the surgeon's office (molds, x-rays, etc.) and the surgery. Guest guest
Hey there! i'm from montreal too..just had my surgery on monday (oct. 24th) in Verdun hospital. actually, once it was decided that i was ready to have the upper jaw osteotomy surgery, i didn't wait long at all..i think from the time we said, ok let's schedule it, the appointment was scheduled in less than a month.. that surprised me actually cuz you know, with all you hear about wait times being so long for surgery now etc, i guess it's not the case for jaw surgery.. but yeah, it depends on your particular case too..i mean, you shouldn't wait too long if you're ready for teh surgery cuz they'll just schedule it..but if you have to do other things before, like orthodontic treatment, etc..you didn't mention where you were on those things.. but yeah, and of course it depends on teh hospital too but that's the thing..from what i understood, the surgery can be placed anywhere where they have room/time for it..the surgeon can then do it in any of the hospitals where s/he's placed..but then it might be different if you have a particular surgeon who works at a specific hospital..mine has his own office in longeuil and does other types of oral surgery there too..so he's not like linked to verdun hospital but thats' where i had it done and the day he did mine and i think two others there. hope that helps.. bibittoslio wrote: Hi! Guest guest
hey i think lower jaw surgery is considered more complicated, cuz of the fact that the main nerve goes through the lower jaw..so for lower jaw surgeries, you have a higher risk of loss of sensation/altered sensation, though from what i'm hearing on this board, in most cases, pple have been getting their feeling back and not complaining about loss of sensation so that's good. also, i think someone on the board mentioned there is less swelling with lower jaw surgery, but i'm not sure if that's true or not.. i think in general though, the most complicated surgery would of course be both jaws and the chin so if u're only having one done, it's not the most major thing in comparison to other jaw surgeries.. hope that helps. -jessica guy_cd <no_reply > wrote: hi jessica, i m thinking of havin a lower jaw surgery ,ie to push it back as it is fwd,do u think lower jaw surgerry is more complicated than upper jaw surg or vice -versa. > Hi!
